River Rats Take Tight Tilt
Both teams had their chances, but the Spokane River Rats eventually prevailed at Premont Grounds.

The Spokane River Rats eked out a 1-0 win versus the Tacoma Rainiers at Premont Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Brian Dubois, who captured player of the game honors. Spokane improves to 67-47 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Alberto T Castillo was at the plate when Spokane scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the River Rats to go in front, 1-0.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Dubois said.
