Neagle Finishes Off Athletics
|
San Diego played host to Oakland at the friendly confines of Jack Murphy Stadium.
The San Diego Padres got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Denny Neagle, but it was good enough for the club to take a 3-1 decision over the Oakland Athletics. The Padres bumped their record to 22-19 with this latest triumph.
The Athletics had few good swings against Neagle, the left-hander, who threw 113 pitches over 9 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 5 hits.
Neagle called the triumph "a good team win."
