Mets Prove Rude Guests, Win 6-4 at Toronto
|
Spirited fans at SkyDome greeted the Toronto Blue Jays for their clash with the New York Mets.
The New York Mets picked up a win at SkyDome, knocking off the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-4. Starting pitcher Frank Castillo, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The win puts the Mets at 32-24, while the Blue Jays drop to 31-25.
In the top of the third, New York third baseman Phil Nevin had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Nevin stroked a 2-run double to right. It made the score 4-1, New York. For the game, he was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"The more wins we pile up," said Nevin, "the more I like our chances."
