Blue Jays Shut Out Athletics
The Toronto Blue Jays stymied the Oakland Athletics, 6-0, at SkyDome. Orestes Kindelán, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He belted 2 home runs for Toronto. Hipolito Pichardo got the win, improving to 9-3. He held the Athletics to no earned runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 33-28 with this latest triumph.

The Blue Jays beat the Athletics with some clutch hitting. The home run by Dwayne Hosey in the bottom of the second is a good example. With two down, Hosey gave his team the lead, 3-0, when he came through with the big hit.

"I felt good up there," said Kindelán. "I saw the ball well."
