Biggio Slugs Devil Rays to 6-3 Win
Orlando second baseman Craig Biggio was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Cleveland Spiders. Biggio, who finished 2nd in the UL in batting average with .298 in 1989, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Devil Rays. Frank Wills, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities. The win puts the Devil Rays at 45-37, while the Spiders drop to 30-53.

With Orlando leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Biggio hit a changeup from Bob Sebra for a run-scoring double. It was his 19th double of the season and put the Devil Rays ahead, 4-2.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Biggio said.
