Whiten Sensational, 5-for-8 Thursday, April 9th, 1998 All game long, Tucson's Mark Whiten was rattling the walls at Motors Ballpark and banging out base hits against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Tarantulas had a 11-8 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 31-year-old center fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Mark Whiten singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th, singled in the 13th, flied out in the 15th and hit an RBI double in the 17th.
