Belliard, Dairy Daddies Too Much for Beasties

The Danville Dairy Daddies downed the Bluff City Beasties, 9-1, at Kernels Ballpark. The Dairy Daddies were led by Ronnie Belliard, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The Dairy Daddies, now 10-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Edgar Renteria chipped in for Danville with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the shortstop had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Renteria.
