The Suns grabbed a win, 6-5, at Ravens Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Bluff City pitcher Cliff Brantley. Brantley went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Jacksonville reliever Ricky Bones picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Jeff Shaw took the loss. Shayne Bennett got credit for the save for Jacksonville. It was his 4th of the year.
Having an impact for Jacksonville was Lenny Webster. In the top of the eighth inning, the 33-year old catcher had a 2-run double to make the score 4-2, Suns.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Jacksonville manager .
Jacksonville is now 14-12. Bluff City is 12-14.
