Dairy Daddies Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Danville Dairy Daddies wiggled past the Jacksonville Suns, 5-4, at Field of the Running Rebels. Danville first baseman Paul Konerko earned player of the game honors. Danville reliever A J Sager picked up the win to move to 3-0. Shayne Bennett suffered the loss. The Dairy Daddies bumped their record to 18-10 with this latest triumph.
Konerko had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-1 sinker from Shayne Bennett, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Dairy Daddies a 5-4 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Konerko.
"This was a good win," said Konerko.
