Moonshiners Beat Visiting Suns, 7-4
|
Asheville and Jacksonville duked it out at Torrance Grounds and the Moonshiners came out victorious.
Asheville starter Ken Cloude had a strong outing against the Jacksonville Suns at Torrance Grounds. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-4 win. The last-place Moonshiners improved to 12-20.
Billy McMillon hit a 2-run triple off Jack McDowell in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Moonshiners in front, 6-4. McMillon had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Cloude told the Asheville Daily. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
