Suns Lose, 7-4, at Wolves Ballpark
Daryle Ward had a good game, but he could not keep the Jacksonville Suns from falling, 7-4, to the Hartford Whalers at Wolves Ballpark. The Jacksonville left fielder went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 in the loss. Bobby Chouinard picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 3-1. The second-place Whalers have won 4 consecutive games.

Quinton McCracken had a big run-scoring single for the Whalers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Hartford leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a forkball from Jack McDowell and stroked the single to left. It was his 72nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Whalers ahead, 5-3.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," McCracken said after the game.
