Treadway Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Bluff City in Walk-Off Win
|
In a low-scoring clash between Bluff City and Buffalo, pitcher Nate Minchey was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Bluff City in the 3-2 win. Bluff City reliever Jeff Shaw was the winner. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Ryan Bradley. The Beasties improved to 26-28.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jeff Treadway came to bat in the bottom of the 14th. Facing Buffalo pitcher Doug Henry, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bluff City on top, 3-2.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Bluff City manager said.
