Great Day for Perez in Beasties Win
|
The Bluff City Beasties defeated the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 10-6, at Ravens Ballpark. Bluff City first baseman Eduardo Perez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Bluff City, at 31-32, occupies 5th place in the Atlantic Southeast.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jeff Treadway came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ocean City pitcher Milt Hill, he hit a 1-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bluff City on top, 6-5.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Treadway.
