Swamp Foxes Hapless Against Suns, McDowell
Jack McDowell never let Savannah get something going. The Jacksonville right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Suns to a 4-1 win. Mark Dewey was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 8 save opportunities. The third-place Suns now have a win-loss record of 33-34.

McDowell earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Jacksonville. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 9. Savannah hitters had little success against him.

McDowell pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
