San Antonio left-hander Chris Hammond pitched his team to victory over the Spokane River Rats at Texans Stadium. The final score was 5-4. The River Rats drop to 6-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1998 season.

The Missions got a big at-bat from shortstop Mike Benjamin. For the game, Benjamin went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave San Antonio a 3-2 lead.
