The Stag had to overcome a fine effort from Tucson pitcher Donovan Osborne to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Ballpark of Louisville. Osborne went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Portland reliever Kerry Ligtenberg picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Keith Foulke was collared with the loss. The Tarantulas, now 10-17, have lost 4 straight.

Eric Owens went 1 for 4 for Portland. In the top of the tenth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Owens delivered for the Stag. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Portland on top, 3-2.
