Burks goes 4-for-5, Blue Jays Move to 14-8
The Toronto Blue Jays grabbed a 10-5 win over the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. Toronto right fielder Ellis Burks was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Toronto, now 14-8, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from second baseman Derek Jeter. For the game, Jeter went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 27th hit of the season gave Toronto a 4-3 lead.
