The San Antonio Missions got a stellar performance from pitcher Chris Hammond, who handcuffed the Portland offense en route to a 6-2 win at Texans Stadium. San Antonio goes to 38-21. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.

The Missions beat the Stag with some clutch hitting. The home run by Troy Neel in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Neel gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Neel.
