Victory Pushes Blue Jays Record to 19-10
|
Curt Schilling pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Colorado Rockies, despite Schilling's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Toronto Blue Jays at Mile High Stadium. Frank Wills recorded his 6th save for Toronto. The Blue Jays have hit the ground running, raising their record to 19-10. While it's still too soon to talk about Toronto hoisting their 1st World Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Toronto relied on the bat of Orestes Kindelán to get the win. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 2-0. For the game, Kindelán had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Kindelán.
