Spiders Beat Red Sox in 10
The inspired effort of Boston catcher Todd Greene was not enough to prevent a 11-8 loss to the Cleveland Spiders. Greene was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Cleveland reliever Steve Karsay picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-8. Joe Borowski was collared with the loss. Even with the win, the Spiders have a dismal 18-37 record.

One significant at-bat for Cleveland came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the tenth. Spiders center fielder Cecil Espy hit a 2-run single, which helped Cleveland go on to win.

"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Espy.
