Toronto center fielder Darrin Jackson had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the San Diego Padres, 6-5. The win was credited to Pat Combs in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Denny Neagle took the loss. Picking up the save was Frank Wills, his 1st.

Toronto took a 5-4 lead on Jackson's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Denny Neagle in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Toronto to the win.

"I like our moxie," said Blue Jays manager Jose Mata.

With the win, Toronto pushes its record to 3-2.
