Blue Crabs Solve Bisons, 5-3
|
Ocean City right-hander Kevin Jarvis made an effective start against the Buffalo Bisons at Aspinwall Grounds, leading his team to a 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was Jarvis, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. The save was Brian Bevil's, his 6th.
Charles Gipson did his part for the Blue Crabs, producing a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning. For the game, the shortstop was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gipson. "And not try to do too much."
The Blue Crabs, now 7-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
