Suns Turn Back Blue Crabs, 7-5
|
The Jacksonville Suns topped the Ocean City Blue Crabs by the score of 7-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Mario Valdez. Valdez went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Suns on the day. Jacksonville has 3 straight wins, Ocean City 4 straight losses.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Jacksonville got a break when Valdez went to the plate. With one out, the bases loaded and the Suns trailing 4-3, Valdez hit a bases-clearing double.
"Enjoyed this one," Valdez told the Jacksonville Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
